Nova Energy (Nova) is a New Zealand-owned, multi-service company, offering electricity, natural gas, broadband, fixed line phone, mobile and EV charging services nationwide. Nova is also an electricity generator.

Nova offers Multisaver Plans which give you discounted pricing when you  bundle two or more eligible services (including electricity, natural gas, broadband and mobile) at the same address, and on the same account.

Nova offers a solar buy-back rate of 10c per kWh for homes and businesses up to 50 kW in size.

Choose to get bills either: 

  • emailed (e-bill); or
  • printed and mailed to you ($2 fee applies)

  • over the phone – with an eligible credit/debit card (1% fee applies each time)
  • via the Nova Hub online account or app – with an eligible credit/debit card (1% fee applies each time)

Website and app:  Nova offers customers online account access and an app called the Nova Hub.  

The Nova Hub allows you to:   

  • access to your energy usage data 
  • view and pay your bill 
  • submit a meter reading 
  • manage your broadband and mobile services  

The Nova Hub app is downloadable from the Apple App Store and the Google Play store.

Complaints

If you have a complaint, get in contact with the Nova’s customer service team. Where the customer service team is unable to resolve your complaint, it will be passed to the in-house Resolutions team, who will work with you to come to a fair and reasonable resolution.   

If your complaint isn’t resolved or you aren’t satisfied with the solution, you can contact:

Nova will not disconnect the electricity or natural gas supplies for unpaid bills for customers who have been verified as medically dependent.  

If you or someone living with you (even for a short period) depends on electricity or natural gas to run critical medical support equipment, you should contact Nova’s customer service team.  

Customers that have been verified as vulnerable should inform Nova’s customer service team who can provide advice on supply or payment options.

Nova customers can view short-term usage data using their Nova Hub online account and app.  

You can also contact Nova and request up to the last 24 months of your electricity consumption data. You can choose either: 

  • a summarised report 
  • a detailed report.
